Sant Llorenç

‘Sant LLorenç des Cardessar located in the northeast of Mallorca, 11 km from the coast. The municipality is made up of five urban centers: Sant Llorenç, Son Carrió, Cala Millor, Sa Coma and S’Illot. The capital Palma is about 62 km away and Manacor about 9 km.

From Sant LLorenç you can walk along the Greenway “Vía Verde” Manacor-Artà, a route suitable for hiking and cycling and that follows the old route of the Manacor – Artà railway line (Download PDF Greenway “Vía Verde”). 

The town has many services: restaurants, shops, public, cultural and sports services. Every Thursday the weekly market takes place, in the church square, with the sale of products related to food (fruit and vegetables), household items, clothing and plants, among others.


Windmills. Several windmills are preserved in the town of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, some of them are; Molí d’en Comís, Molí d’en Ferrer, Molí d’en Bou, Molí d’en Gras and Molí d’en Rosa.

Parish Church. It dates from the thirteenth century, although the last major reform and expansion was carried out in the twentieth century.

Pou Vell. Old well that supplied water to the inhabitants of the town and their livestock.

Remains of the Basilica of Son Peretó. It was a building for early Christian worship, it is located 2 km from the town of Sant Llorenç in the direction of Manacor.

Archaeological site of s’Illot. The talayotic town of s’Illot is located 11 km from Sant Llorenç des Cardassar in the tourist centre of s’Illot.
